What happens when an iron nail is placed in copper (II) sulphate?

Thank you! What happens when an iron nail is placed in copper (II) sulphate?
iron(Fe) being more reactive than Copper(Cu) displaces Cu from copper sulphate (CuSO4). Thus, the following equation is derived:

Fe + CuSO4 -----%26gt; FeSO4 + Cu

OBSERVATIONS-

1. reddish-brown deposit on the surface of nail

2. surface of the nail is found corroded

3. the blue solution turns light greenWhat happens when an iron nail is placed in copper (II) sulphate?
Fe (s) + CuSO4 (aq) -----%26gt; Cu (s) + FeSO4 (aq)

The iron nail will become coated with a layer of Cu (s) and some of the iron nail will go into solution as Fe2+ (aq) ions.
most likely you get a wet nail.
