How do I bring my rabbit to a nail-clipping place?

Well, my bunny has long nails now and I'm afraid to trim them myself beacuse I'm a beginner. I want to take my bunny to a nail-clipping place. I don't know any wet, but there is a person who clips animal's nails at the mall, in Debby's Pet Land. I saw the lady cut another rabbit's nails before, but that rabbit was not afraid to go. My bunny is afraid. How do I bring him? Do I bring his cage or something? I don't know what to do...How do I bring my rabbit to a nail-clipping place?
Do NOT take your bunny to Petland. They have all kinds of nasty diseases your bunny could get. Call local groomers and vets in your area. When the time comes for the appointment, put your bunny in a travel crate (You can get them at walmart for like $10) and take him in. The vet/groomer will take it from there. How do I bring my rabbit to a nail-clipping place?
cage and take her to petsmart
Yes, put him in a cage and just to keep him calm, cover it with a towel so he can't see out. He'll be fine. Any animal hospital or grooming shop will usually trim a bunny's nails though. If you have a closer place that's not as busy as a mall...you may want to try there.
Try to borrow a cat carrier from some friends to take him

to the nail clipping place. Watch closely, how the lady is doing that and buy a clipper for yourself. Your bunny needs to get his nails clipped about every 6 weeks. It's not difficult to do and you

you will learn it easily. You don't have to cut his nails short anyway, just cut off the tip. Good luck and don't worry, it's not going to hurt him.
we have 2 guinea pigs, our vet usually clips them,I would think they would do a rabbits too, definatelly put him in a box or cage to take him there then use a blanket to wrap him when you take him out and hold him close to you so he doesn't feel scared also watch the hind legs they are good at kicking and scratching when they are scared.
Call the vets in your area and ask if they clip rabits nails... Its really not that hard hard to do it youself... They have cages for small animals made for when they need to be transported to the vet, just put him in one!!
carry him in a pet taxi or in your arms... I would wrap him in a towel when getting them clipped... this will keep him from scratching with his hind legs when doing the front and should make him easier to handle. Sit him on the towel and wrap the towel around him till tight but not too tight.
Get a cat carrier. They have all different sizes of these at pets stores so you can chose the one that's most appropriately sized for your bunny.
I'm assuming you have a traveling cage/cart. If you don't, get one! Set the traveling cage/cart out where Bunny can get used to it for a day or two. Then put him in it and take him to the vet. Go back with him and see how they do it. You can work up to doing this yourself!

Here's a link to a carrier below.

It's almost all acclimation. Get him used to rides in the car and having people touch his feet. Good luck!
Ok, well, you can get a little cat carrier and put your rabbit in it, put him in the car, take him to the vet to get his nails clipped, and ask the vet how you would do it at home.
ok brin him in his cage if u take him a couple times he or she will get use to it

lol

your welcome

Iyuchan
that bunny dindnt look scared cuz the lady wuz doing it right same with my bunny
You can just take him to a vet office and they should be able to do it

You can look veterinary clinics in the phone book. They know how to properly restrain animals that are scared so that they don't get hurt.
Really it will be better for him if you trim his nails yourself. He trusts you and will be much calmer in his own surroundings.

To trim his nails you will need to lay him on his back. You can use a human nail trimmer or a cat nail trimmer. Cut just above the quick(the pink line in the nail). If you cut into the quick it will bleed. But you can do this yourself, it really is not hard to do. If you want have someone else hold him while you cut the nails. Learning to do this is much better for your rabbit, you should trim nails about every 6-8 weeks.

If you absolutely cannot do it yourself, the best way to transport him is in a cat carrier. One that you can cover with a towel that will help keep him calm. Ideally the best carrier to transport a rabbit in is a rabbit carrier. They open from the top and it is easier to take the rabbit out of a carrier like this.

Good luck and do give yourself (and your rabbit) a chance and cut the nails yourself. I have 30 rabbits and I cut their nails myself.
