Latino's play Baseball? Football I find is somewhat equally mixed. But more whites play golf of course. Why are sports not as equal with races? And why are majority of some businesses like a mentions ran by a stronger majority of a race than another? There are obvious patterns but if someone could explain what leads to diff ethnic backgrounds doing certain things that would helpWhy do Indians usually run Gas Stations, Asians work at Nail places, majority of blacks play basketball and...
It has to do with available resources, which is defined as money. However, you are making some strong generalizations. Eastern Indians are involved in many businesses, not just gas stations. As well, the owners of gas stations are distributed across our nation with a greater number of these businesses clustered around highly populated areas. There are many Indians involved in technological production. Bose sound systems is owned by Eastern Indians. Many Internet providers are owned and managed by Eastern Indians. They participate in companies that manage stock portfolios, as well as Asians. A lot of nail salons are owned by blacks, and other cultures. These salons are not dominated by Asian ownership. Blacks are active participants and owners of many manufacturing companies. One of the largest distribute rs of used automobile parts is owned by a black owner. It is a multi million dollar business, has no debt, and I have stock in this company. So, my suggestion is for you to seek confirmation of your generalizations. You will learn a lot.Why do Indians usually run Gas Stations, Asians work at Nail places, majority of blacks play basketball and...
These all are kind of ';separate but equal'; examples. Can you believe that it's still going on in America? They've never stopped, just become hidden; they've sort of become normal.
Because if they didn't then all our stereotypes would be shot to hell.
Sometimes, people only see things like the stereotypes you've mentioned above. Not to mention that, if many people of a particular ethnic group do one thing, it becomes the norm, and acceptable and even an honoured position.
I'd also like to point out that the pattern you're seeing could be because you aren't looking past the stereotypes. Just because they say a lot of people of one race do one thing doesn't mean that it's something that is usually done by others in their group.
Look at the fingers on your hand - are they all the same shape and size??
