If you are alone, go for it. If there are others around, don't do it. The idea of flying body debris is frankly disgusting. if a nail tears, or is causing a problem, to discretely file it down is alright if done quickly. But, wait to clip until you are on your own.Is it rude to clip your nails in public places?
Yes. It's best to do the trimming in private and to clean up after yourself. If you've broken a nail in a public place and need to remedy the situtation use the restroom and trim it there. Is it rude to clip your nails in public places?
Yes. It is something that should be done in the privacy of your own home.
not rude, but a little gross. Remember that when you clip your fingernails, they sometimes go flying all over the place. People who would be around you would most likely be cringing and waiting for a stray nail clipping to hit them in the eye or something.
I would say save it for when you are alone or at home.
no
I think so.
I knew someone who was clipping their fingernails in public and a piece of the nail flew up and went in a persons eye. That guy had to pay this girls doctor bill because of it. She took him to court! Crazy stuff. So moral of this story is, do it in the privacy of your own home...even away from relatives.
I don't think so entirely. Although you should be courteous enough to pick up the finger nails and throw them away! Now your toes on the other hand (no pun intended!) should be clipped in privacy....I wouldn't want to see anyone's feet being manicured outside of the pedicurist. Especially if you didn't use clippers and went the ole ';chew'em off'; way!
I have never heard of such a thing. That is one of the most disgusting things someone could do.
Yes, its rude, gross, ands unsanitary. And it makes you look like you don't have any manners or home-training.
Yes, and while we're at it, it is also considered inappropriate to apply makeup, brush your hair, pick your teeth or any other body part, and, in most locations, to scratch. I know this is all done, commonly, but it is still nasty and inappropriate and rude. The worst thing, however, is to spit. Especially if you are female. Nasty gross vile disgusting. But back to the nails. Do your grooming in private.
YES, YES, YES and the worse is to hear this clipping sound in the office, it's so rude and drive me crazy. I rather hear someone farting...
I would say no, but, then again, i would never do it in public and would avert my eyes if i would see someone else doing it. I guess its somehow installed in our software not to favor personal grooming in public, even if it doesnt include intimate parts of your body. Go figure.
YES
Not only is it rude, but it is also incredibly GROSS to most people. How would you like to have someone sitting next to you out in public clipping their nails, and a clipping flies into your lap or hits you in the face. Take care of you personal hygiene in the privacy of your home like everyone else. You should go out into public already cleaned and groomed, not do it while at lunch with a friend.
Yes. Unless you're in a beauty salon, it shows that you've been poorly brought up.
Yes!
