I was cut in two places by a rusty nail earlier today, and now I'm feeling somewhat sick.?

Earlier today while working in the yard, I was cut by a rusty nail. Now, I am feeling pretty sick (I have a relatively painful stomach ache and some pretty bad nausea). There is no large area of redness at either site and the cuts are not hot to the touch. If I continue to feel this way for the next few hours, I'm going to go to the emergency room.

Sounds like an infection. Considering it cam on so quickly it could be quite serious. I would either see a health care professional now or if it gets any worse definitely go to the ER.





Don't be fooled by the lack of redness or heat at the cuts as a positive sign. Since cuts allow microbes to invade the body (a direct pathway into blood) it is possible you are becoming septic (septicaemia/blood infection)- this is serious.





Are you up to date with your tetanus boosters?





It could just be a coincidence?

What i the status of your tetanus immunization. If you can't remember and or it has been over ten years you need to go to emergency today for an immunization
U might need a tetanus shot if u arent up to date with one, I think ur supposed to have one every 10 years
